This 33-1 shot is 3/5 at Worcester and could be severely overpriced

Scrupuleux beats Dark Invander by a short head in the 2m Novice Handicap Chase Worcester 11/6/18

Racing on Friday comes from seven venues, with Doncaster, Sandown, Cork, Perth Worcester, Kilbeggan and Chepstow all hosting action. The ITV Racing cameras are also out, with Sandown and Perth being the chosen venues. The feature race is the Group 2 Classic Trial, where ten three-year-olds look to confirm their Derby credentials.

We’ll have horse racing tips for all the action, but my focus is on Worcester. They host an eight-race programme and one runner will be returning to their second home on Friday. The aforementioned horse is 3/5 at the venue for a level stakes profit of £10.25. All the details on this mystery runner can be found below!

Is red the colour of money?

He’s far from consistent, but Three Colours Red simply loves Worcester. As previously mentioned, he’s won three times from five visits, finishing second and fourth on the other two occasions. The most recent win came on his final start for Robert Stephens, winning off a mark of 106 in game fashion.

He’s subsequently joined Tim Vaughan, where he was a winner at Warwick on his second start for the stable. That came off a mark of 113 and he’ll race off 107 today, so he’s obviously well-treated off his current rating. The reason for that, is a pair of disappointing efforts to end 2020, pulling up at both Chepstow and Hereford.

Soft ground won’t have suited him, however, and a return to a sounder surface will be a big help to him. He’s also undergone wind surgery since we last saw him and Charlie Price claims an invaluable five pounds. Back at the venue he holds dearly, odds of 33-1 look to severely underestimate the chances of this nine-year-old.
