Talented Irish jockey travels to Chester on Friday for two intriguing rides 😲

It’s not very often that the very capable Gary Halpin makes the trip across the Irish Sea. Having had just 17 rides in Britain in the last five years and just two so far this campaign, this could be a significant move. He takes two rides on Amo Racing owned horses at Chester on Friday evening. Both have live chances and they form a 29-1 double. 6.30 Chester

Metahorse (9-2, Paddy Power) certainly looks capable of winning a race like this. He showed plenty of promise on debut before bumping into one at Newmarket last time. Having shown signs of greenness on debut and becoming unbalanced in the dip last time out, improvement looks likely here. This looks like a good opportunity and there are no excuses.

7.30 Chester

Double O (9-2, Paddy Power) progressed with each of her first three starts. Her third start which came at Pontefract resulted in a comfortable victory. There wasn’t much to like about her last place finish in the Albany at Royal Ascot last time and the severe drop in grade looks sensible. This opening mark of 75 looks very competitive and a big run could be on the cards.
