Seven-time Wolverhampton winner drops in grade on Monday in search of eight 🎱

Musselburgh, Ludlow and Wolverhampton kick off another week of racing on Monday. Each venue hosts a seven-race card and we’ll have horse racing tips for all three meetings, including a NAP of the Day and Lucky 15 tips.

Horses for courses is a phrase every racing fan is accustom too. That’s for good reason, however, as some horses will only perform at their “home away from home”. That phrase definitely applies to the below horse, who has gained seven of his eight career wins at Wolverhampton. He drops in grade on Monday in search of eight and you can find all the analysis below!

If you’ve been following racing for a while, I’m sure you’ll be familiar with Mutabaahy. Trained by Antony Brittain, he’s a six-year-old who has run 79 times in total, including 23 starts at his “home away from home”, Wolverhampton. He’s won their on seven occasions and that 30% strike-rate shouldn’t be scoffed at.

He’s a very particular horse and there’s no doubt about it, he needs everything to drop right to be winning. He’ll be held up under Cam Hardie, who will look to weave his way through late in the day, and he certainly has all the tools to be doing so. This particular race looks wide open and there should be some strong early pace on offer.

That’ll suit him down to the ground and a return to the minimum trip of five furlongs is another positive. He currently sits six pounds below his last winning rating and dropping into Class 5 company is another factor in his favour. If this does turn into a burn-up, as expected, he’ll be pouncing late and should be heavily involved for a place.
