No runners for the Twiston-Davies yard this weekend with The New One suffering from a slight cold and missing his possible Sandown engagement. Nigel told us that all his big guns (Blaklion, Bristol De Mai, Ballyandy, Tour Des Champs and so on) are all fit and well and are out in the fields ahead of a new campaign next winter. He will be having runners over the next few months with the most suitable horses for the expected summer ground, and will keep us accurately informed as always about their chances, but to be fair he and his staff deserve the nearest they ever get to a weekend off (the horses still need exercise feeding, mucking out and so on of course), and he will be back next week, runners permitting.
