myracing Greyhound Syndicate Owners Evening

This week’s latest syndicate update comes from one of our syndicate managers David Mitchell:

What A Night

You really couldn’t have written a better ending to a perfect evening. With myracing.com sponsoring 3 races on Crayfords stacked Saturday night card, we had just one chance of glory with Droopys Nuka. She has been in excellent form since coming back from a knock and the shrewd bookies were taking no chances. The first board marked her up at 5/4 and the rest quickly followed suit. The anticipation as our beautiful blue bitch made her way to the traps was gripping trackside. Some thirty or so owners had made the long trip down to Crayford and our expectations of a trophy winner were at fever pitch. The bell rang and the hare was on the move. Nuka flew the lids leading a good field for the grade by two lengths at the first bend. With trouble in-behind she soon scooted clear, eventually stopping he clock in a career best 23.59. We had finally won our trophy and hopefully just one of many in the future.

Kennel Open Day

We had the pleasure of going to Jim Dalys Kelva Kennel on Sunday morning as part of an owners day hosted by the kennel staff. We had a great day with some sad faces as we waved goodbye to the retiring Droopys Dazzle who moves into her new home next week. It was a chance to meet all of our dogs close up and ask Jim questions on future plans. Let’s just say Meenagh Mourinho is the boss of the kennel, with his overbite and crooked nose he certainly isn’t a looker but he has the heart of a lion.

The Week Ahead

Droopys Hyde is declared for Tuesday afternoon at 13.31. He’s dropping back in trip which isn’t ideal but he has a lovey draw in T2. Hyde really is the type of dog that could absolute dot up or finish down the pack. He comes into this race in-form and we expect a good run from him.

Jacobs Fire had a trial over 540m before racing on Saturday and we were really impressed with her. She was in against another of Jim’s who had been competing at S2 level and although she was beaten by a couple of lengths she certainly looked like she would come on for the run.

Meenagh Mourinho as many of you will have seen took a nasty fall when last up at Crayford and he has a minor cut on his leg to deal with. It’s a superficial injury that just requires a few weeks off. This will give time for the injury to heal but also allow time for him to freshen up.

This week we enjoy the spoils of war, let’s see what next week has to bring.
