2027 Guineas market for receives a shake-up

Although he didn’t win by far in the end, Monogram’s performance on debut at Naas on Saturday was breath-taking and Joseph O’Brien might have a valid 2,000 Guineas horse on his hands. Owned by Juddmonte and backed from 3/1 all the way into 4/6, he was very slowly away and dead last for much of the race, but cut through the field like a knife through butter to get up near the post. This is a proper horse and he will only improve for the step up to a mile. He could be anything and the 20/1 for the Guineas now is a fair price.

Ger O’Leary sends two to Brighton

Irish trainer Ger O’Leary sends two runners to the south coast on Monday and Billy Loughnane will take the ride on his first runner of the afternoon, Blue Anthem in the 6f handicap (3.30). A three-time winner last year for George Boughey, he was backed off the boards when eighth of 15 at Roscommon in June and could be worth another chance.

Adam Ryan bidding to maintain perfect record at Ballinrobe

Amateur rider Adam Ryan is a perfect two from two at Ballinrobe this season and could be a bit of value in the closing bumper (8.00) aboard the David Harry Kelly-trained Mastertown Miss. She chased home a Gordon Elliott runner in a Clonmel maiden hurdle on debut in April before finishing a creditable eighth in the Goffs Defender Bumper at Punchestown. Her sights are lowered here now.
