Let’s take a closer look at this big gamble in more detail below. Yesterday’s market mover was smashed from 16-1 into 9-4 and bolted up so this could be worth a second look.

3.40 Lingfield

Backed from 10-1 into 13-8 in places at the time of writing this article, you can still get some 9-4 about Star Of Epsom with bet365. Trainer Pat Phelan has a very modest strike-rate these days so it is even more interesting that so much market support has come for his filly.

The four-year-old daughter of Sir Percy was left with far too much to do at Kempton over 1m4f when last seen, but stuck to the task well and was only beaten a few lengths in sixth. This is a very weak affair so she brings a decent enough level of form to the table and it is interesting that top all-weather jockey Callum Shepherd is booked for the ride.

Phelan only trained 11 winners on the Flat last season but interestingly eight of those came here at Lingfield. This is obviously his favourite hunting ground and the weight of money would have to suggest that this filly has a massive chance in the finale.
