Jockey who’s 5/7 at Ripon in 2021 goes for one ride on Monday

Ripon Racecourse

2021 has seen Ripon become a very happy hunting ground for Joanna Mason. It’s no surprise given that she’s Mick Easterby’s granddaughter that she knows the Yorkshire tracks like the back of her hand. Seven rides so far this season have produced a remarkable five winners for a level stakes profit of +£14.58. Mason has just a single ride on Monday’s card.

We have horse racing tips for Ripon on the site as well as the other cards on Monday at Wolverhampton, Ayr, Windsor and Ballinrobe. Can Mason continue her love affair with Ripon? Let’s dig deeper into her ride.

7.55 Ripon – Titanium Racing Club Handicap

Jojo Rabbit has not been seen out yet this season. He was a smart juvenile, runner-up in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury behind subsequent dual Group 3 winner Happy Romance. This will only be his second try in a handicap, very soft ground bogging him down at Newmarket on his only other attempt.

Good to soft didn’t appear an issue for him last season, far from disgraced when eighth in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot on it. He has been gelded since last seen and with plenty of time to mature, he may find that he can build on his solid runs as a two-year-old.

It is interesting that he has been sent to a track that favours those on the speed on his 2021 return to action. This sort of track should suit him well, especially with Joanna Mason in the saddle. She is having a career year with twenty-three winners already, having a previous best of seven. Her confidence is showing and Jojo Rabbit can go well with that transmitted through the reins.
