ITV Outsiders: Liam can’t believe this ex-Derby horse is 20-1 on Friday 🤯📺

It’s Day 1 of the now three-day Guineas Festival at Newmarket and the ITV cameras are back. There will be seven live races across Newmarket and Goodwood. 2.40 Goodwood

Atalanta’s Boy (9-1, Bet365) has both a fantastic record at Goodwood and a very smart first time out record. He has won five of his eight starts at the track and has won first time out in his last two campaigns. The only potential negative is the fact that he is yet to race over 5f. This is intriguing more than off-putting however and this could end up being an inspired move.

3.00 Newmarket

Humanitarian (20-1, bet365) is now with Stuart Williams having been with John and Thady Gosden. It’s crazy to think that this horse finished seventh in the Derby and the Edward VII Stakes three years ago and is now available at a massive price for a 7f handicap. His last win came at Newbury in a decent 1m4f handicap and the 5f drop in trip is a fascinating move. Even as a two-year-old the minimum distance he raced over was a mile so it’ll be interesting to see how this bold move plays out.

3.15 Goodwood

This isn’t the strongest of Listed races and it looks fairly open and winnable so it could be worth giving the improving Folk Dance (9-1, bet365) a go. She’s lightly raced having had just seven career starts and she won nicely off a career high mark of 83 when last seen at Newmarket. Surely there is more to come from this mare as it’s unlikely she has reached her ceiling yet.
