Horses in first time headgear on Monday form a 125-1 accumulator

Monday’s don’t get much more manic than this! We start the new week with seven race meetings, with the afternoon action coming from Kempton, Naas, Cork, Ripon and Newcastle. Carlisle and Windsor take over in the evening and we’ll have horse racing tips for all the day’s racing.

New headgear can bring out sizeable improvement from horses. Connections fit cheekpieces, blinkers or tongue-ties to their horses hoping for a positive reaction and more often than not, it prompts progression. We’ve found three horses who are set to benefit from headgear for tomorrow’s racing and it forms an 125-1 accumulator. Find all the details below!

3.15 Kempton – Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day Nursery Handicap

Ralph Beckett has a 20% strike-rate when fitting his horses with blinkers in 2021, which makes the claims of Koda Legend all the more interesting. A son of Kodiac, he’s shown plenty of ability in three opening starts for his connections.

He makes his nursery debut off a mark of 78, which is far from harsh given there is substance to his spring form. He’s also been gelded since we last saw him and in-form connections reach for the visor. If they have the desired effect, she’ll be a difficult horse to stop.

4.00 Newcastle – Best Odds Guaranteed With MansionBet Fillies’ Handicap

Well beaten on her first two starts of 2021, Golden Hind has rediscovered some form in recent starts. In the first-time tongue-tie, she travelled well into the race at Doncaster two starts ago, not having the turn of foot to threaten late on.

At Hamilton last time, upped in distance, she went down by an even narrower margin, just lacking the finishing kick once again. The cheekpieces are now added, which should help in that regard, and she’ll relish a return to this surface. Her sole win came over course and distance off today’s rating and that makes her a fascinating contender.

4.12 Ripon – Never So Bold Handicap

Today should be the day for Big Boy Bobby, who clearly needed the run when down the field on handicap debut at Salisbury two starts ago. He left that effort well behind, however, when second to a likeable type at Nottingham last time.

On his third start of the campaign, he should be just right in terms of race fitness, and he’s now fitted with the cheekpieces. Roger Charlton is 4/7 at Ripon in the last five years and 1/1 in 2021, which is an interesting statistic to note, and he’s difficult to oppose in this contest.
