6.00 Chelmsford – CCR Handicap

Just a small field where strong course form comes from Indigo Times. A winner on three of his four visits to Chelmsford, he has looked deeply progressive. A hold up performer, he needs to get a pace to run at so connections will be hopeful that Notation will go on. That rival has been winning on Fibresand but is yet to do so on any other surface.

6.30 Chelmsford – chelmsfordcityracecourse.com Fillies’ Conditions Stakes

Shimmering Dawn would looks to have strong claims at the weights in this classified contest. Her career best run came over six furlongs at this track, though she has proved her stamina for this extra furlong since. She has won three times in five starts here so this track clearly suits well.

7.30 Chelmsford – Racing Welfare Handicap (Div I)

The winner of three of his seven runs here, Captain Pugwash is on a tempting mark these days. He is not the horse he once was but wasn’t beaten far over course and distance last time from two pounds higher. His last win here was almost three years ago but he’s slipped fifteen pounds since that victory.

8.30 Chelmsford – tote.co.uk Now Never Beaten By SP Handicap

The final race on the card sees Bayston Hill looking to add to a course record that boasts five wins in eight starts. He has won on his last four visits, just two pounds above the most recent of those which came on the 9th of January. He won from a pound lower here in April 2019 so it would be no surprise to see him notch up another win.
