‘He will carry just 8 stone 4’ – Liam thinks 33-1 won’t last on Wednesday outsider ⚖️

Muntahaa and Jim Crowley winning the Ebor at York 2018

The ITV cameras are back and this week they are at York for five races on the first day of the Dante meeting and for the Racing Welfare Mental Health Awareness Week Handicap Hurdle at Newton Abbot. That gives us plenty of opportunities to find more horses whose chances outweigh their big prices. Here are three outsiders running on Wednesday live on ITV. Check out our free tips page for content across all British and Irish racing.

2.25 York

Devilwala (33-1, bet365) hasn’t won since his two-year-old days but he was a useful performer at Group 2 level including finishing second to Minzaal in the Gimcrack here. He has changed hands three times since then and been tried over a variety of distances. The return to 6f is intriguing and if it’s a successful endeavour, it could bring about a return to form. Another thing in his favour is his slide down the handicap as his new mark of 83 looks a competitive one. He will carry just 8 stone 4.

3.00 York

Emaraaty Ana (11-1, Boylesports) didn’t get on well in two runs over in Dubai. He should appreciate being back on British soil and he can hopefully leave his foreign form behind him. As a consequence of those two runs he should be fit enough and it’s very hard to ignore Kevin Ryan-trained sprinters. As a Group 1 winner, it would be reasonable to expect a good run here.

4.10 York

Matty Too (25-1, bet365) was a cosy winner of a decent nursery at Nottingham last season off a 3lb lower mark. He had no chance against a very well handicapped horse at Beverley on seasonal debut and he is entitled to improve for that run. It looks like the handicapper has done the horse a favour by dropping him a pound for that effort and he should go well here.
