It could be a good start to the day for Gordon Elliott and although Porcupine Bank looks the yard’s second string on jockey bookings, he has a big chance. The 4yo has won his last two, following up his Punchestown maiden victory with a very cosy win at Ballinrobe in late May. Sam Ewing knows him very well and he could improve a chunk again so he has to be in the mix.

Elliott has very strong claims in the following 2m2f beginners’ chase with Bowensonfire. This boy certainly isn’t bred for the larger obstacles but he was comfortably the best of these over hurdles and if he can translate that form to fences, there will only be one winner.

That’s About Right comes with risks attached as he can often be slowly away and get detached, but that’s the way he runs. He needs a strong pace to aim at which is assured here and he showed he retains some ability when staying on late for a remote fourth at Wexford last time. He is now 9lb below his last winning mark and he might outrun his huge odds.

Dragon Of Malta is a dual C&D winner who won back-to-back at Listowel last September and is often targeted at these festivals on the west coast. He was a big eyecatcher when fourth at Limerick last month, where he should have arguably finished a lot closer and he has the perfect draw in stall one here.

Finsceal Annie hasn’t shown her best yet this term but she is now below her last winning mark and she should relish the stiff hill here.
