Beverley Racecourse

Fresh after Tuesday’s massive Epsom course specialists accumulator win, we’re back with another horses for courses special. This time we have three horses running running at Beverley on Thursday with proven track records and they form a tantalising treble. 2.30 Beverley

Ana Gold is a lightly raced three-year-old having had just four career starts. She won here on her second start and as a consequence she has an unbeaten course record to defend. Runner-up that day was Selby’s Pride who subsequently boosted the form by winning next time out. On her last run of the season she ran in a competitive fillies’ nursery at Newmarket and finished third. The winner has gone on to compete in pattern races so this form looks solid. There should be plenty more to come on just her second handicap start.

3.40 Beverley

There are two runners with good course form in this race but Bit Of A Quirke hasn’t won here since June 2019. This means that Masque Of Anarchy is the selection. Craig Lidster’s gelding is also defending a 100 per cent record here having scored on his only attempt back in August. That was off a 6lb lower mark but he was third on seasonal reappearance off this mark in a better race at Doncaster last month. He has a good chance here back down in grade.

4.10 Beverley

Poet’s Dawn has been in the first three in no fewer than nine of his sixteen starts at Beverley. This includes four victories which is double the number of his victories at every other track combined. Tim Easterby’s seven-year-old is yet to win on good ground but the fact that he has decent records on good to firm and good to soft suggests that the going isn’t the cause of that. He won two in a row here last April and May including this race off marks of 80 and 83. Now that he finds himself on an attractive looking 76 he has to have a solid chance.
