Best in the business: the William Buick accumulator the bookies fear on Tuesday 😱

William Buick is looking to become champion jockey for the first time having been devastatingly close when losing out to Oisin Murphy last season. With Murphy being absent this season, it’s a great opportunity for Buick to take advantage and claim the title. The bookies make him the 2-5 favourite to do so and he takes three rides at Newcastle on Monday and. Paddy Power are offering 46-1 for the treble. William Buick will be hoping Willing To Please (13-2, Paddy Power)  lives up to her name as the first of his three rides. The 1lb rise she received for finishing third at Pontefract last time out was harsh as she was beaten by almost three lengths. She tries a new trip of 1m2f for the first time which if successful, could generate some improvement. Her last win came at Carlisle which is a stiff track so there is evidence that suggests the step up in trip will suit.

State Event (11-8, bet365) is his only ride of the night for regular boss Charlie Appleby. This colt is certainly bred to do the job as his dam is dual Oaks-winner Blue Bunting and his sire is the incredibly successful Shamardal. Improvement can be expected from his fifth on debut and this looks to be his most likely winner of the night.

7.30 Newcastle

Rose’s Girl (2-1, Paddy Power) showed vast improvement on handicap debut at Wetherby last time out. She hadn’t shown much in three starts in novice company but her last run suggested she should thrive in handicaps. Having had just four career starts, she’s completely unexposed despite the 2lb rise for her last effort. Further progression can be expected and she doesn’t have much to find here.
