5,004/1 Racing Post Weekender Acca!

Ayr Racecourse

Looking for a NAP of the day this Saturday, or maybe even a NAP of the weekend?

Well, look no further than our 5,004/1 Racing Post Weekender acca.

We’ve taken a look at this week’s edition of the Racing Post Weekender and picked out some fancies for Saturday’s action.

There are selections from Ayr and Newbury on a big day for Flat racing.

Dakota Gold (1:45 Newbury – Saturday)

Stuart Redding

Dakota Gold has been one of the summer’s biggest success stories and he can land another win here.

Michael Dods’s charge has won three valuable handicaps and proved he was up to this sort of standard at York last time out, making all in a Listed race without being seriously threatened.

The gelding is dropping back in trip slightly but a repeat of that latest performance may well be good enough in this company.

Malotru (2:55 Newbury – Saturday)

David Milnes

Malotru can keep US owner Earle Mack on a roll by landing the Group Two Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.

The Marco Botti-trained youngster was doing all his best work at the death when fourth to Threat in the Group Two Gimcrack Stakes at York last month.

That form got a boost when the winner took the Group Two Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last Saturday and Malotru has since excelled on the gallops.

Aleneva (3:15 Ayr – Saturday)

Stuart Redding

Aleneva is an interesting contender in this Group Three.

Richard Fahey’s filly made a good impression on her debut at Haydock in June, making all and digging deep to fend off Walk In Marrakesh.

She hasn’t been seen since, but the runner-up has subsequently progressed into a smart filly and was beaten narrowly in a Woodbine Grade One on Sunday, so that form is decent.

Air Raid (3:50 Ayr – Saturday)

Norman Chorley

Jedd O’Keeffe is having his best Flat season and that could go to the next level this weekend as Air Raid seeks a big handicap success.

Things have really clicked for the lightly raced four-year-old Air Raid this term, with three wins, and the headlines will write themselves when he contests the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup on Saturday.

He finished well beaten in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood last time out but that was his first encounter with fast ground and, with some ease in the surface at the start of the week at Ayr, there can be optimism it will not be rattling come the weekend.

Two starts ago the speedy Air Raid won the Scottish Stewards’ Cup at Hamilton in good style and he has another nice prize in him before the end of the season.
