Gavin Sheehan – 11.55 Kelso – Donladd

It’s a rare visit to Kelso for Gavin Sheehan. He has had just four rides over hurdles at Kelso in his career, tallying three winners and a second from them.  That has produced a level stakes profit of +£7.17 from just the handful of rides. It’s Sheehan’s tenth season in the saddle so a trip to Kelso is a rarity.

He has a solitary ride over the smaller obstacles on Sunday, in the 11.55 on board Donladd for Donald McCain, a yard Sheehan has only ever ridden for once in the past so it has to go down as an interesting booking.

Jordan Nailor – 3.20 Kelso – Iwilldoit

Still just twenty-two years of age, Jordan Nailor is a young man very much on the up. He has ridden five winners in his last twelve rides for a level stakes profit of +£31.37 and three of his last five for +£17.87. He wasn’t far away from adding to that on Flying Angel at Aintree on Saturday and now heads to Kelso for a single ride on Sunday.

Four miles on soft ground is going to take plenty of fitness from both horses and jockeys in the Borders National. Iwilldoit is also the sole runner on the card for trainer Sam Thomas, making the long trip up from South Glamorgan.  Nailor has two winners in four rides over fences for the yard plus a second and a third for a +£26.00.

Jason Hart – 3.25 Southwell – Drew Breeze

With nearly 500 winners under his belt, it’s amazing that Jason Hart isn’t better known. The winners have been flowing of late, four in his last nine rides and six from his last twenty-two. He has also got an excellent record when teaming up with Ivan Furtado on the all-weather as he did to win the 4.00 at Wolverhampton on Saturday.

This is especially notable when he is on a three-year-old as he is here. Four winners in seventeen rides under these conditions which is a 24% strike rate, for a level stakes profit of +£24.50.
