Read on to see which four horses we’ve picked and why…

Leg 1 – Buveur D’Air

Beaten just once since finishing third in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle here two years ago.

Winner of this race twice already, he is sure to hit peak fitness for the opening Championship race for leading trainer Nicky Henderson.

Leg 2 – Altior

Not since Sprinter Sacre was at his prime in 2013 has the Champion Chase market been dominated so heavily by one horse.

Such is the ability of Altior that a number of top class horses, who would be genuine contenders for this Championship race in any other season, look set to swerve to different targets.

12 wins from 12 starts over fences so far; unless this is unlucky 13 he should make it back to back Champion Chases with ease.

Leg 3 – Paisley Park

Emma Lavelle’s challenger has had his task has been made considerable easier by the withdrawal of Penhill following a set back last week.

Winner of his last four races, including by a huge twelve lengths over Course & Distance on his last start. He has been a different animal this season and his stamina is clearly his strongest asset.

Leg 4 – ???

Representing powerful connections, he comes here following two impressive wins in competitive fields over in Ireland.

His Racing Post rating for his last win is considerably higher than any horse in the race, aside from his stablemate – current second favourite.

With the market opting strongly for our choice, and a Grade 1 win already under his belt, he can bring home our accumulator at the start of day 4.
