120/1 Acca of must-see trends for Wednesday’s racing!

Southwell Racecourse

After four days of fantastic Grade 1 action over Christmas, we have a few days of downtime before the weekend’s racing. We still have four meetings to look forward to on Wednesday, with Market Rasen, Taunton, Limerick and Wolverhampton all hosting cards.

We’ll have horse racing tips for all three, including plenty of multiples such as an Each-Way Double and Lucky 15.

This article is for all you trend fans, who love to follow the numbers for your bets. We’ve found three horses who hit all the right numerical notes and they can be found below.

12.35 Taunton – Bang On

With 14 winners from 61 runners at Taunton in the last five seasons, Jeremy Scott has been the man to follow at the venue. That 23% strike-rate has equated to a £43.47 profit and Bang On looks to be his best chance on Wednesday.

He fields two in this contest, but this Ben Godfrey ridden seven-year-old arrives in better form thanks to a nose second at Bangor earlier this month. Headed on the post that day in a three-way photo, a three-pound rise for that isn’t harsh.

Stepping up in distance shapes as though it’ll suit and this mark is dangerous, placed off four pounds higher last season. If building on that most recent effort, with conditions to suit, he has excellent claims.

12.45 Market Rasen – Across The Line

Harry and Dan Skelton have been on an incredible sequence of late. Harry has ridden 21 horses in the past two weeks, with seven winners maintaining a healthy strike-rate of 33%. He has several strong chances on Wednesday, with Across The Line being one of them.

Winning at Hereford on his second hurdling start, he’s not been disgraced under a penalty in two subsequent engagements. Rated 124, he sets the standard kept in novice company and ground conditions will be in his favour.

He has three pounds in hand over his main rival Away At Dawn and further improvement should be on the cards. If he’s able to do just that, another victory beckons for this 100,000 euro purchase.

12.50 Limerick – Kalkas

Henry De Bromhead has enjoyed a fine season at Limerick, with five winners from 23 runners. That 22% strike-rate has raised a healthy profit of £27.50 and Kalkas looks to have strong claims in the opener.

Costing a whopping £210,000 at the Cheltenham 2019 Sales, he hails from a smart family and ran better than the bare result on Irish debut last time. He travelled well into that 2m 4f contest before a mistake three-out, weakening thereafter. He was entitled to need that run, however, and he drops back in distance for today’s outing.

He’ll love the heavy ground and with the yard in great form overall, there’s plenty to like about his chances under Rachael Blackmore.
