IN SUMMARY: Saeed bin Suroor can notch up a quick double at Doncaster with DREAM CASTLE here. He’s a son of Frankel out a Group Two winning mare and has a beautiful pedigree and could be quite a racehorse if things go to plan. The John Gosden trained Loujain should give him most to think about whilst any money for Never You Mind would be of interest.

1 CHUNKYFUNKYMONKEY – By Kheleyf out a dam who failed to win in 7 starts. His trainer is slightly out of form without a winner in the last fortnight (7 runners) although his trainer does have a 12% strike rate at Doncaster. He wears blinkers on his racecourse debut and he’s best watched in this.

2 DREAM CASTLE – Saeed bin Suroor has a fascinating runner here. He’s a son of Frankel out of a mare who won the Group Two Flying Childers at Doncaster which makes him one of the most attractively bred propositions in this field. 7 furlongs should be ideal with plenty of pace on his dam’s side and he should be very popular in this for a trainer with a 25% strike rate at Doncaster. Should be right there.

3 FLYING ONSITE – 14,000 Euro 2yo who’s run twice to date on the turf. Both of those efforts came at Doncaster including over C&D but he was well-beaten on both occasions and it’s unlikely he’ll be able to mount a threatening challenge in this. He should do better when entered into handicaps which he will be eligible for after today and is best watched on that basis.

4 GIVE IT SOME TEDDY – Picked up for a very cheap 1,000GNS as a yearling and sold on for 19,000 Euros as a 2yo so he’s clearly developed at home. He makes his racecourse debut for a yard that do well here (18% strike rate) and they have sent out a winner in the last fortnight so he’s one to watch closely in the betting. He is related to a couple of winners in and around this trip so he’s not without a chance at a bigger price.

5 HAMRIYAH – £24,000 yearling by Harbour Watch out of an un-raced mare. His trainers record is a major cause for concern (4% strike rate, 9 winners from 208 runners) and he’s not known for first time out winners so he’s probably one to keep an eye on with a view to the future.

6 LAMLOOM – Twice raced on the turf on Good and Good to Soft ground. He’s been beaten a fair way on both starts but he was well-backed on his final run of last season having been sent off the 3/1 joint-favourite. He’s by Cape Cross so will appreciate the ground drying up some more and he is related to a few nice types. Could be more to come off a layoff and connections obviously liked something about him when he was bought for 85,000GNS as a yearling.

7 LOUJAIN – Had a good introduction to racing last year when he finished third of nine in a competitive Newmarket maiden. That was a better contest than this and he should come on a lot for that experience for a yard with a 22% strike rate here. He’s a half-brother to Maqaasid who achieved an official rating of 110 so there’s plenty to like about this John Gosden 2yo. Should be right at the front of the betting here.

8 NEVER YOU MIND – 65,000 Euro yearling by Bated Breath and he should have plenty of speed for this 7-furlong assignment. Charlie Hills can get one ready first time out and the booking of Richard Kingscote catches the eye and he’s worth plenty of respect on racecourse debut. He’s been gelded already and should be forward enough on debut. Respected.

9 OUR KIM – 19,000GNS 2yo and his trainer’s first runner at Doncaster. He’s out of a mare that won on debut over 7 furlongs on Good to Yielding ground which is an obvious plus and she went on to achieve a rating of 95 so he’s not without a chance based on pedigree. Others make more appeal on racecourse debut but he could turn out to be a nice type in handicap company.

10 TO DIBBA – Not many Roger Varian debutantes are sent off at 20/1 but this horse was at Doncaster last October over C&D. He was well beaten that day but he was keeping on at the end and the form looks okay for this level. He’s related to a relatively decent type that won over further than this and failed to win on all attempts over 7 furlongs. He should come on a lot for that experience but he looked to want further than this and others are preferred although his trainer does have a leading 26% strike rate here.

11 HOT GOSSIP – Finished last of 10 on two occasions now and this Fast Company filly will be better suited to handicap company. She looked outpaced over 1m 2f last time out and it’s strange therefore that she’s dropped back to 7 furlongs. She’ll be a big price to win today and rightly so. Avoided.

12 PACO LADY – Well-beaten on two starts to date over 5 furlongs and she steps up in trip today which should suit based on pedigree. She was only bought for 1,000GNS and others readily preferred on what may prove to be a hose for handicaps further down the line. Yard without a winner in 15 runners here.
