1.30pm Cork Tips & Betting Preview 06/11/2016

A three mile novice hurdle at Cork on Sunday boasts a lineup with plenty of recent winning form.  There is plenty of quality in here and should be a race that works out well as the season continues.

IN SUMMARY: Another fascinating clash between the powerhouses of Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott.  Blood Crazed Tiger won over this C&D last time but Elliott said afterwards “I would say 2m4f is his trip” so it’s a slight question mark to see him back over three miles again.  Red Giant may improve for the blinkers while Black Warrior is progressing but this new trip could unlock further improvement in SCREAMING ROSE who is a half sister to Friday winner Airlie Rose.

1 Black Warrior – Ran well at Cheltenham when runner up to El Bandit just over two weeks ago.  He arguably had the run of the race on that ocasion, leading at a crawl before kicking on and leaving his rivals flat footed.  The step up in trip is an imponderable but if suiting then he has every right to be there at the business end.

2 Blood Crazed Tiger – The Gordon Elliott yard have been in the winners this week.  This son of King’s Theatre is looking for a 4th win in a row, the latest when winning over C&D from Oathkeeper.  The post race debrief suggested that Elliott would step him back down in trip next time out as he was keen early on   A change of heart sees him over three miles again but that is a small question mark.

3 Red Giant – A winner of a pair of hurdles within a week in June, he was far from disgraced last time returned from a break behind De Plotting Shed.  Better ground and a step back up in trip should suit while first time blinkers could add another dimension to his attack.

4 Garri Rua – Improved 22lbs in the handicap over the summer, notching up three wins in the process.  He struggled a little up in grade last time and this is a further rise in class so it’s likely he’ll struggle.

5 Screaming Rose – A half sister to the same stable’s Airlie Beach, she was narrowly denied upped to this Listed grade last time.  It was suggested afterwards that more of a stamina test would suit and on cue, she tries three miles for the first time here.  If the new trip suits her as looks likely, then she is the one to beat.

6 Definite Outcome – Dug deep to win her 3rd handicap of the year at Punchestown last time.  She has progressed well this summer but this looks a step too far.

7 High Nellie – Lowest rated of these and likely to need an awful lot of luck to make an impression here.

myracing Forecast Prices: 6/4 Blood Crazed Tiger, 15/8 Screaming Rose, 4/1 Black Warrior, 10/1 Red Giant, 16/1 Definite Income, 25/1 Garri Rua, 25/1 High Nellie
