8.40pm Wolverhampton Tips & Betting Preview 27/09/2016

WINGS OF ESTEEM (7/2) has a chance at a bigger price if building on his last run. The filly has a nice draw in Stall 1 so should be able to save ground by the rail on what is a sharp track and she comes here in form after going down by just half a length behind Wakame last time out.

1 CAPE CRYSTAL – Struggled off an opening mark of 61 initially but things clicked into place in August and has won 3 and placed once in 4 runs since then. Last chance to run in a 0-75 and beat a decent opponent in Thecornishbaron last time out.

2 LIVELLA FELLA – Consistent but only 2 wins from 19 starts, the last of those in July. Off a career mark here today and while unexposed on the All Weather (only two runs) ran well enough on Soft last time to suggest she could play a part in the finish here.

3 YOU’RE A GOAT – 3 wins from her 9 runs so far and did well to win last time out when she was keen, pulling well clear with the 2nd. That said, it wasn’t the strongest race and she was getting a hefty weight for age allowance off the rest of the field. Could well be that the handicapper has caught up with her now off 74.

4 PRAY FOR PARIS – Just three starts and makes her handicap debut here off a mark of 71. Drops in class from a decent 4th on the All Weather at Kempton last time out and Josephine Gordon is a good booking but drops 3 furlongs in trips and up against some far more experienced sorts here.

5 WINGS OF ESTEEM – Largely campaigned over these sorts of trips but ran well over 8 furlongs at Lingfield last week with Jimmy Quinn on board and off the same mark here. Had shown plenty of promise when beating Mystic Blaze on Fibresand at Southwell and has a chance if taking to the surface.

6 SHADOW SPIRIT – Having her third start for Iain Jardine today and has improved with each run. Well held at Ffos Las last month, staying on over the mile into second so the step up in trip will be in her favour. Jim Crowley booked to ride which can only be a positive.

7 SO MUCH FUN – Booking of Silvestre De Sousa a positive but has a lot to find to trouble some of the market principles. Well beat eight of nine runners at this course and step up in trip has to spark some major improvement.

8 TRANQUIL TIME – Showed plenty of promise in maidens and latest run can be excused as she was badly hampered when about to make her run. Jockey and trainer combination do well at this venue and could be a touch of value at large double figure odds.
