National Hunt racing has returned to Windsor this season and they will host two Winter Million fixtures, on Friday and Sunday. There’s sure to be some thoroughly competitive action on offer and as such, we’ve selected four horses to follow. These include a 14/1 stable debutant in the £165,000 Fleur De Lys Chase, who is an ex-Willie Mullins inmate. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
It’s been a tough season for Paul Nicholls so far but The Bluesman showed promise when winning a maiden hurdle at Chepstow in November. He did plenty wrong on the day and shaped as if he would improve plenty for the experience. Harry Cobden immediately said that a step up in trip would suit and the six-year-old should have every chance if lining up.
L’Eau du Sud looked like Britain’s leading Arkle hope until Sir Gino’s demolition of Ballyburn and he’s fancied to extend his unbeaten record over fences here. Caldwell Potter and Gidleigh Park look like the main dangers but victory here would surely book his spot at Cheltenham in March.
Venetia Williams’ Martator is progressing well this season and one would imagine he’s live candidate for the Grand Annual. Particularly impressive when taking a £100,000 handicap at Ascot on his penultimate start, further progress could well be on the cards.
Indiana Dream is unbeaten in three starts but clearly isn’t the easiest to train. Formerly trained by Willie Mullins, he was a hugely impressive winner of a maiden hurdle and beginners’ chase for previous connections. This is his first start for Jonjo & A.J. O’Neill and is definitely worth keeping an eye on. The seven-year-old has been off the track for 407 days but he retains lots of potential.
