Ryan Moore is the best jockeys in the business and always turns up on the big occasion. He drew a blank on Day 1 of Royal Ascot but rode a brilliant double on Wednesday, including on Auguste Rodin in the big race. The bookies are scared of him now that he’s off the mark and he has four strong chances on Day 4. We’ve combined them into a Lucky 15 which is likely to yield at least a couple of winners. Fairy Godmother looked plenty green enough when second on her debut at Naas and she gained revenge on her conqueror in a Group 3 over the same course and distance next time. More will be required here but her profile suggests she can improve again.
Opera Singer bloomed towards the back end of her juvenile campaign in a way that suggested she would improve at three. Aidan O’Brien’s filly was utterly dominant in the Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp, winning it by five lengths. An injury setback meant she was only just about ready to come back in the Irish 1000 Guineas and vast improvement is anticipated.
Ethical Diamond returns to the Flat after a juvenile hurdle campaign, in which he was highly tried. Just denied when second on his return to this sphere at Leopardstown, the step up in trip should help. It also helps that the form is working out well and it’s easy to make a case for him here.
Diego Velazquez looked special as a two-year-old until struggling with the heavy ground in the Futurity Trophy at Doncaster. The French style of racing doesn’t suit every horse and we can assume that’s the case with him, after two below-par runs this season. Better is expected here and the drop in grade is also a big plus.
