On-fire Patrick Mullins’ two rides at Galway on Monday form a 20-1 double 🔥

Patrick Mullins has proved to be an impossible man to pass in the last fortnight. He has had just three rides in that time and all three have come out on top. The Galway Festival kicks off on Monday and Mullins’ 100 per cent record will ensure he’s full of confidence going into it. Mullins rides two for his father on Monday and they form a 20-1 double. 6.40 Galway

Lot Of Joy (11-2, Paddy Power) ran a belter when last seen on the Flat. Willie Mullins’ mare finished third in the Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh and was only beaten by a length. She finished fourth in this race last year but her subsequent run at the Curragh suggests she has improved since. A winner over hurdles also, she got off the mark over timber at the third time of asking. That win came in good style and by a margin of 12 lengths.

It has to be said that she struggled when upped to graded company at Cheltenham and Fairyhouse in two subsequent starts over Jumps. The return to handicap company should suit back on the Flat and this looks like a good opportunity to return to winning ways.

8.20 Galway

My Great Mate (9-4, William Hill) finished third on debut at Killarney back in May. The form of that race has since been boosted by the fourth who won next time out. It’s reasonable to expect him to improve for the experience and he’ll have every chance here if doing so. He’s a half-brother to the very useful Ashroe Diamond and should be well up to winning a race of this stature.
