Patrick Mullins has an enviable record at most tracks in Ireland so far this season and currently leads the way in the Irish Jump jockey’s championship, with 18 winners from just 27 rides. One of the country’s most decorated and revered amateur jockeys, his record at Ballinrobe so far this season is impossible to ignore. Mullins has had just three rides there and every single one of them was a winner. He goes there on Tuesday for just one ride and the horse in question has to be of interest. Mister Pink has had one start to date and he was a solid second in a 12-runner race at Fairyhouse. The winner of that race is unbeaten in a bumper and an Irish point now and looks like a very smart prospect for JP McManus and Gordon Elliott. Willie Mullins’ charge probably won’t need to improve on that effort to win here but is likely to take a step forward regardless.

There’s lots to like about Mister Pink’s pedigree and he’s related to plenty of bumper winners. This suggests he should be well up to winning races in this sort of company and it’s often reasonable to expect a Willie Mullins runner to get the job done.

His trainer has a 63 per cent strike-rate in bumpers so far this season which is formidable indeed. The combination of that strike-rate and the form he showed on debut looks very good for his chances here. It certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to see Patrick Mullins’ unbeaten record stretch to four.
