Real Gold struggled somewhat in her first three starts but produced a much improved performance to finish third in a course and distance novice last time out. Making her handicap debut here, she’s likely to progress in this sphere and 59 is a nice opening mark.
Angel Gabriel started off in a heavy ground maiden at Doncaster last month and ran a nice race to finish second. Ralph Beckett’s colt may have bumped into one when second again at Southwell after that and he can get off the mark with victory this time around.
Belle Of Kt bumped into a couple of useful horses when third over course and distance last time out and it’s worth noting that she was well clear of the fourth. The handicapper has given her an opening mark of 55, which looks fair, and the best is surely yet to come.
Denis Coakley’s My Fermoy absolutely bolted up in a novice at Southwell over a mile last time out and he should be competitive off a mark of 82 on that evidence. There’s some stamina in his pedigree and the way he finished off his race last time suggests the new trip will be fine.

Located in Surrey, Lingfield was the UK’s first All-Weather track as it was opened in 1989. The Equitrack surface was replaced by Polytrack in 2001 and then relaid in 2012. It’s one of the busiest tracks in the country with racing taking place all year round.
Surface: Along with Kempton Park and Chelmsford City, Lingfield uses a Polytrack surface which deals very well with cold weather and as it is a fairly unique surface, previous experience is a plus for our tips.
Course: It is a very sharp track and some of the bends are very tight so well-balanced horses do well round here. It’s not unusual for horses to pick up a head of steam and come flying from the back of the pack.
Draw Bias: There is a slight advantage to be drawn low in 5 and 6 furlong races as there is a bend soon after the start, but it’s not major.
Feature Meeting: The All-Weather Championships take place on Good Friday which we have full analysis and tips for. The whole day is the culmination of the winter season on the artificial surfaces.
