IN SUMMARY: RYDAN is four pounds below the mark from where he was runner-up at Goodwood in June. Conditions on the soft side of good are perfect for him on turf, he can reward connections for his consistency this season. The Mick Appleby yard do well with cast offs, Bertie Moon is well treated on his first run for the yard if the new surroundings can coax him back to form. Slunovrat drops in grade, he began 2017 with a smart run at Sandown, he looks capable of getting in the mix now back down to a Class 4.

SLUNOVRAT – Steadily progressive the last couple of seasons, he kicked off the current campaign with a smart second at Sandown. Outclassed at a higher level since, the return to this grade should see him in a better light with underfoot conditions to suit.

ST MARY’S – Career best form this season, notably a pair of wins at Chester. She ran another smart race when runner-up over course and distance last time. An extra three pounds demands more but she should continue to progress.

WHINGING WILLIE – Winner at Epsom last time, the majority of his best turf form has come on switchback tracks. Yet to defy a mark north of 80 in nine attempts, he is surely too high again now from a career high mark at the age of eight.

RYDAN – Arguably a better horse on synthetics, but this surface is no issue for him on turf. Has shown a consistent level of form so far this season threatening to get his head in front. Placed from four pounds higher at Goodwood in June, he is a huge each way player.

SWAHEEN – Has won at this trip in the past on soft ground so conditions will suit, campaigned at shorter this campaign. He won off this mark over eleven furlongs at Carlisle earlier in the year, his chance increases with any falling rain.

EURATO – Just a single run on the turf in the last three years, he was runner-up from 57 at Catterick. His grass mark has gone up in line with his sand one in the time since, 74 here leaving him with a little to prove.

BERTIE MOON – Won over course and distance in August 2016 from two pounds higher. That was on quicker ground but a softer surface is no issue for him. Starts out for a new yard here from a clearly feasible mark so has to be of interest.

MASTER ARCHER – Mark gradually heading upwards despite being runner-up the last three times. Has found little off the bridle so needs to be treated with caution despite conditions to suit. Has a place chance once more.

STORMIN TOM – Front runner won over this trip at Ripon in August. Stays further so will be looking to run the finish out of these, but he wound’t want the ground to get any softer from higher than any mark he has been successful from.

SAVED BY THE BELL – June 2015 the last time he got his head in front, he has sunk a long way in the weights. Couple of flashes of form over this trip in 2017 but lacks the consistency to be too confident about what he can produce.
