7.00pm Nottingham Tips & Betting Preview 19/06/2017

This is a Class 4 handicap raced over 5f, see our betting tips and the full race preview below.

IN SUMMARY: It looks best to stick with the 3yo’s in this and BERRYESSA can come out on top. She’s lightly-raced with just three runs to her name but she’s shown some good form already this season and she’s open to any amount of improvement off just a 4lb higher mark. Rose Berry is likely to be popular with the in-form Silvestre De Sousa aboard whilst Midnight Malibu can do the best of the rest.

1 MIDNIGHT MALIBU – Looks dangerous in this grade having placed twice over 5 furlongs when in Class 4 company since the turn of the year. She bumped into one last time out at Musselburgh and she has been left on a mark of 83 which is more than fair and she should give a good account of herself here although the yard have only sent out 6 winners from their last 66 runners in the past fortnight.

2 LYDIA’S PLACE – Arrives here on the back of a win last time out in similar conditions to todays and she’s been raised 3lbs in the weights for a half a length success. She has something to prove off this mark but she’s a talented filly and did win a Class 3 handicap off a mark of 87 in her early days so she should be able to give a good account of herself in this. The yard have sent out two winners from their last 17 runners.

3 ROSE BERRY – Beat Midnight Malibu when the pair met earlier this year and she races off much worse terms today. She has gone up another pound for a fine third placed effort at Chester at the end of last month and she continues to improve at a rapid pace and the booking of Silvestre De Sousa can only be seen as a big positive. She’ll appreciate the drop back in trip and she should have a big race in her for a rapidly improving filly.

4 TAHOO – Hasn’t quite hit the same level of form as she did in the early part of her 2yo career but she’s run to a fair level of late with a placed effort at Windsor last time out. She’s on the same mark today which doesn’t look completely beyond her although the conditions are similar today and she needs to improve to win this race. Another that enters calculations but others make slightly more appeal.

5 POWERFUL DREAM – Looks up against it on these terms giving away plenty of weight to her 3yo rivals. She won on her last start over an extended 5 furlongs and she’s recorded three victories since the start of the year which has seen her rise onto a career high mark today. She’ll have to take a big step up on her form to get the better of these on today’s terms and she’ll need a strong pace to aim at.

6 SOCIALITES RED – Another to arrive here on the back of a win and she scraped home over 6 furlongs last time out to win by a short head. She’s been raised 4lbs and like Powerful Dream, must give away plenty of weight to her younger rivals which leaves her badly treated on these terms. There are slight doubts about this trip having done all of her best work over 6 furlongs of late and she may be worth opposing today.

7 YORKSHIREDEBUT – Paul Midgley’s runners have finally hit a bit of form and his filly steps up in grade today following a comfortable defeat last time out. She couldn’t defy a 6lb rise in the weights when weakening quite badly at Redcar and that was disappointing having won with some promise at Thirsk previous to that. This race asks plenty more of her and others make a bit more appeal today.

8 BERRYESSA – Lightly-raced 3yo who has recorded one victory and two placed efforts to her name since the turn of the year. She finished second, beaten a short head at Catterick last time out on handicap debut and she’s been raised 4lbs for that effort which sees her run in Class 4 company for the first time today. She clearly likes this ground and trip and is open to improvement so she would be unwise to rule out off bottom weight.
