4.10pm Wincanton Tips & Betting Preview 14/10/2016

8 runners go to post for a Handicap Hurdle at Wincanton on Friday. See the full preview and our betting tips below.

IN SUMMARY: On Demand took a big step forward on debut with Colin Tizzard and could well improve further. Like wise, Karl Marx has escaped a penalty for a good win at Exeter last week. However, although very inconsistent, JACK SNIPE was a decent 5th last time out and is quite lightly raced. He’ll need to improve for the win purposes but his pedigree gives some hope to that and a chance is taken on him today.

1 TITCH STRIDER – 2-35 and has won over C&D in the past. Been very poor late however and dropped out very tamely at her beloved Fontwell last time. Doesn’t appeal today.

2 ON DEMAND – Mediocre on the flat and not much better when switched to hurdles, however she posted a career best when 2nd at Newton Abbot latest (2m5f, Good). That was her debut for Colin Tizzard and there may well be more to come, but she does need to improve further for this.

3 MILAN OF CRYSTAL – 20-1 and never figured when 5th of 12 at Exeter in a lower grade (2m, Good to Firm). Doesn’t strike as an obvious type for this and needs to improve massively to take a leading role.

4 JACK SNIPE – A decent 5th in this class at Newton Abbot latest when only 2 and a half lengths behind Karl Marx. Is slightly better off what that rival today and is much more lightly raced, and if managing to build from that effort he may well have enough to take this contest.

5 DROPZONE – Has pulled up the last twice and his latest effort was incredibly tame. Makes no appeal today with his head clearly out of the game.

6 PRIMO ROSSI – Clipped heals when falling latest at Stratford, but also fell the time before at Worcester, with no excuses that time. Has posted some form that could see him involved today but not the most convincing.

7 KARL MARX – Just beat Jack Snipe on penultimate start at Newton Abbot before scoring over a shorter distance at Exeter latest (2m1f, Good to Firm). Has obvious form claims to be involved having won over C&D previously and Harry Cobden takes off 3lb. Needs a huge amount of respect.

8 SUN QUEST – 12yo who has an awful strike rate (2-91) and isn’t exactly in good form lately. No appeal.

myracing Forecast Prices: 11/10 On Demand, 15/8 Karl Marx, 4/1 Jack Snipe, 8/1 Primo Rossi, 14/1 Milan Of Crystal, 16/1 Titch Strider, 33/1 Dropzone, 100/1 Sun Quest
