Tips for Ludlow Races
The National Hunt only venue is located in Shropshire. It’s a relatively small track which holds fixtures between October and May.
Course: Both the chase and hurdle tracks are about a mile and a half right-handed circuits. The former is on the inside and has a couple of long straights with sharp bends at either end. The back straight of the hurdles track is far more undulating and the turns are slightly easier. It generally suits galloping types for our tips but they need to be balanced to handle the sharp bends on the chase course.
Feature Race: The main race at Ludlow comes in March called the Forbra Gold Cup. It’s a handicap chase which takes place over 3 miles.
