Trainer with 47% course strike rate has 1st runner there in almost 6 years on Sunday

Razzle Dazzle 'Em leads the field in the 2m novice hurdle at Fakenham, 19/2/16

Just three cards on Sunday afternoon, Fakenham and Southwell in England and Thurles in Ireland. We will have free horse racing tips for all three cards on the site on Saturday evening. As always, we dig deep into the cards, looking for interesting titbits that perhaps the ordinary punter won’t be aware of.

It’s rare to find a trainer with such a great record at a track as this one for Sunday. Not only that, but to go almost six years without a runner at that track in question is certainly unusual, even when the jumps is not their number one code for their horses. Read on to find out who it is.

12.45 Fakenham – Vote Hollie Doyle Sports Personality 2020 Mares’ Maiden Hurdle

A Breeders’ Cup winning trainer just six weeks ago, James Fanshawe sends a runner to Fakenham over hurdles on Sunday. Vibrance is a rare runner over the jumps for him in the opening contest, the record of the trainer at Fakenham certainly making her participation an interesting one.

January 2015 was the last time that Fanshawe had a runner at Fakenham, almost six years ago. That is more remarkable given that in his career, Fanshawe is 7/15 with his runners here, a remarkable strike rate of 47%! On top of that, those winners have produced a level stakes profit of +£28.27, an excellent return from a relatively small number.

Vibrance makes her hurdling debut on Sunday, not seem since failing to beat a rival home at Sandown in August. She stays strongly, a winner over two miles on the flat so she won’t be failing for lack of stamina over hurdles.

She has only won on the All-Weather which does raise a question for her to answer but it’s hugely interesting that she has been chosen as Fanshawe’s first runner here in nearly six years.
