Trainer with 31% Southwell strike-rate sends 80-1 double on 402-mile Monday round trip 🚗

It’s another busy day of racing on Monday, with four meetings to keep us occupied. Southwell, Lingfield, Musselburgh and Wolverhampton are all on the docket and we’ll have horse racing tips for all four meetings, including a NAP of the Day and Lucky 15 tips.

Two runners to keep an eye on this Monday are from the Harry Fry stable. The Dorset-based trainer has a 31% strike-rate at Southwell in the last five years and he sends a pair of runners on the 402-mile round trip from his base, with the double paying 80-1 double. You can find all our analysis of his runners below!

12.50 Southwell – Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Novices’ Handicap Chase

A lightly-raced seven-year-0ld, Revels Hill was a winner over hurdles at Warwick in April. That was a handicap contest and it was a very game performance, brushing off a sustained challenge the entire way up the straight. He switched to fences on his return at Wetherby in October, looking in need of the run after a few scrappy jumps.

It was a much improved effort at Hereford last time, finishing second to a runaway winner after being hampered early in the contest. That form has been franked since and he’s able to race off the same mark here. This sharper track will certainly play to his strengths and he’s an each-way player.

3.20 Southwell – Watch Off The Fence On attheraces.com Handicap Hurdle

He’s yet to score in five rules starts, but the promise has been there to see from Hurricane Mitch, who should have an each-way role to play in this contest. He’s finished second on three occasions, including a pair of hurdling starts in November, posting a peak RPR of 103.

He made his handicap debut at Exeter last time, weakening tamely after travelling up well for much of the journey. That was disappointing, but the cheekpieces are now fitted and the handicapper has dropped him three pounds. This is his second start after wind surgery and dropping back in trip might be the answer.
