Top trainer with 55% strike-rate at Plumpton this season runs one on Monday 😲

Monday’s can often be a quiet day for racing but there are regularly some fascinating contests to get stuck into at Plumpton. One of the best angles in at the Sussex track so far this season has been to follow Nicky Henderson. The Seven Barrows maestro has sent nine runners to the track this campaign, winning with five and a further three finishing second.

That is a remarkable record, even for a yard with the firepower that Henderson has at his disposal. It is a track that has long been a happy hunting ground for the stable. Since 1989, Henderson has a 31% strike-rate at the track for a level stakes profit of +£48.15.

There is also racing at Catterick in the afternoon and Wolverhampton in the evening for our horse racing tips to get stuck into to kick off another week.

3.30 Plumpton – Long Man Brewery Handicap Hurdle

Full Of Light is the sole runner on the card for Henderson. He made his handicap debut over course and distance last time out, running out a comfortable enough winner, the front pair pulling well clear of the third. That was only the fifth run of his life and the third for this yard so there should be plenty more to come from him as he matures.

He is a half-brother to a pair of fair types in Pinnacle Panda and Cotton End who reached ratings of 134 and 127. Things are still early days for his sire Leading Light but that should add plenty of stamina into a family that stay this trip comfortably. He will get further in time but having already won over this course and distance, this looks a solid target for him to aim at.
