Top jockey with 50% Pontefract strike-rate has 1 ride at the track on Sunday

Pontefract races

A big race jockey heading to just a single meeting is always interesting. When that jockey is Ryan Moore and it’s up to Pontefract on a Sunday instead of having a day off, it becomes even more interesting. Moore has had six rides at Pontefract so far in 2021, yielding three winners, a second, a third and a fourth for a level stakes profit of £7.90 and is 6/11 since the start of 2020.

It is a track that has been good to him in general, a 34% strike rate over the last five years suggests that he heads to the track when he knows that he has winners waiting. Musselburgh is the star of the show on Sunday with all seven races live on ITV Racing with Uttoxeter the third track to see our horse racing tips.

4.10 Pontefract – Sky Bet Go-Racing-In-Yorkshire Summer Festival Pomfret Stakes

The horse in question is Regal Reality and it’s no surprise to see Moore head up for this one in a Listed race as he looks very hard to beat on paper. Just last August he absolutely ran riot in a Group 3 at Salisbury before finding Kameko just half a length too strong in a Newmarket Group 2 the following month.

That form stands out a mile at this level and although both 2021 runs have been well below his best, taking on the likes of Palace Pier in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot on his seasonal debut is a tough task for anyone.

His form has taken off since a visor was fitted and he is officially rated ten pounds higher than any of his rivals here. It would be a shock if Moore were to go home without a winner., despite just a single ride.
