It’s the handicapper’s job to try and prevent horses from running up a sequence of wins. The aim is to give every horse an equal chance but some are ahead of the handicapper. There are three runners at Leicester, Huntingdon and Brighton on Tuesday that completed hat-tricks in their last races and will be attempting to complete four-timers.
Clearly they are all huge improvers but their connections will be hoping there’s a little bit more to come. We’ve combined them into an interesting treble for you to consider. You can check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Asense (2-1, Paddy Power) is in flying form of late and completed her hat-trick at Bath last time out. It was a career-best effort and she won by a comfortable margin. She carries a 5lb penalty here but that might not be enough to stop her. This four-year-old is adaptable with regards to ground and she looks more than capable of getting her head in front again.
Forceful Speed (3-1, Paddy Power) is already a fairly prolific winner, scoring five times in an 11-race career. His turf record is particularly impressive as he’s won four and finished second once in eight starts on the grass. The recent winning run began with a narrow victory over 1m2f at Pontefract and three subsequent winners have come out of the race. He avoids a penalty for winning the Apprentices’ Derby at Epsom last time out and has to have every chance here.
Blue Sans (2-1, Paddy Power) has taken her form to a new level this summer. All three of her wins have come at Southwell, the first of which came back in June. A 5lb rise seems more than fair enough for a comfortable win last time out and there could be more to come. Amateur rider Tom Broughton has been on board for all three victories and his 7lb claim is set to come in handy once again.
