This horse is 3/5 at Wolves for a £25.50 profit and runs there on Sunday!

Wolverhampton Racecourse

The festive period brings us some fantastic racing, with Kempton and Leopardstown providing the showpieces. Both venues host Grade 1 action, with the feature, of course, being the King George VI Chase.

We’ll have horse racing tips for all the big races over Christmas, including accumulator tips and Lucky 15 selections. I’m going to a more low-key Wolves for this stats selection, however!

The horse below has won three times at Wolves, with a big profit margin to show for it. They run tomorrow and look to have standout claims of putting their head in front. Find all the details below, while also taking advantage of Virgin Bet’s sign-up offer!

Athmad at the quadruple?

Ruth Carr’s Athmad has relished his trips to Wolverhampton, with three victories from five starts at the venue. That 60% strike-rate has equated to a level-stakes profit of £25.50, which is a very healthy margin. All three of those successes have come this winter over course and distance, latterly two starts ago.

He was a very comfortable winner that day at odds of 8/1, with previous victories coming at prices of 12/1 and 7/2. He was extremely unlucky over course and distance last time, awkward at the start and then denied a clear run at a crucial stage.

His jockey was unable to manoeuvre for room all the way up the straight, ultimately having to settle for third. It was an effort that suggested he was still on a workable mark, however, and his rating has been left unchanged for today’s assignment.

After just seven starts on the All-Weather, he remains unexposed on the surface and has been thoroughly progressive this winter. The best of his turf form suggests he’s capable of even better and kept at his favourite venue, another big effort has to be expected.
