Steamer Alert: JP McManus horse backed from 16–1 into 5–1 at Punchestown 💨💨

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 2.35pm at Punchestown today.

2.35 Punchestown

When the money comes for a JP McManus horse, you stand up and take note. If it is his own money that is on, he seldom leaves it behind him. The big McManus gamble of the day comes in the Punchestown opener and the horse is called Stand Up And Fight, who has been backed from 16/1 all the way into 5/1 at the time of writing this article.

This horse was third in the La Touche Cup at this festival last year and will no doubt have been laid out for this. He was given a prep for this race when sixth in a Cross Country Chase at this track in February. Far from disgraced at Aintree when last seen in a remote sixth, he will feel more at home on Irish shores and given the yard, he deserves the utmost respect.

To add further intrigue, McManus also has the well backed favourite in the race, Shady Operator. He would be the form pick of the pair but there has been a fair amount of support for his so called outsider. Best of luck if you have a pop.
