It’s an action-packed day of racing on Saturday and Adrian Wall has highlighted some interesting facts, including Benie Des Dieux’s first runner as a dam.
Willie Mullins’ superstar mare Benie Des Dieux will have her first runner as a dam as The President makes her debut for Gordon Elliott in the Bective Stud colours on Saturday. Her first foal, she herself was a winner on the Flat and was a top-class 2m-3m1f hurdle/chase winner for Closutton and sired by Walk In The Park, this girl is worth monitoring for sure in the 5.33 at Listowel.
Connor Beasley has won the closing extended mile handicap at Beverley (5.08) the last two years running and will ride veteran Langholm in the race this year. He is yet to fire this year but is 13lb below his last handicap winning mark and is a course winner. He may be a decent price.
Ado McGuinness makes the journey across the Irish Sea with Star Harbour (1.30) who is a big price for the opening 1m3f handicap live on ITV Racing. He hasn’t won for a long time but he caught the eye when fourth in a lady riders’ handicap at Leopardstown when last seen and he is racing off a very attractive mark now, so he may go well.
Shecouldbeanything and Royal Eagle won the last two runnings of the opening 2m mares’ hurdle at Listowel and Swing Davis bids to bring up the hat-trick for the yard this year. She won over hurdles at Navan last spring, but has failed to complete on her last three starts, but the last two were over fences. She has been fitted with first-time cheekpieces here returning to hurdling.
