1.32 Kelso

Richmond Lake probably has the strongest form in the race as he was second to Jonbon last time. However, the horse that was sixth that day, Donny Boy, looks way too big a price. They went a crawl and as a consequence he was exuberant, keen and used up all of his energy early in the race. Honneur D’Ajonc should ensure that there’s a decent pace on here and Donny Boy looked like a very smart horse when winning his bumper and maiden hurdle in decisive fashion.

2.05 Kelso

Former Willie Mullins-trained runner N’Golo is a big player here if he can get his act together in the jumping department. He really caught the eye at Haydock in December when fourth at odds of 50-1 on stable debut, hitting a low of 2.9 on the exchanges. He looked a winner at one point but just faded in the closing stages. His jumping let him down at Ascot since but there’s tough obstacles to navigate there and he will find it a bit easier around Kelso. Now 8lb lower than the Haydock run, he is handicapped to go very close here so watch the betting for a move on Saturday morning.
