Red-hot jockey could be a millionaire maker at Newbury on Friday

There is no jockey in better form at present than David Probert. 8 winners from his last 11 rides, he heads to Newbury on Friday afternoon for a book of six rides which are all an each way price.

Six winners on an each way Lucky 63 would yield a full maximum payout of a million pounds with William Hill, even to a 10p each way stake, a £12.60 total.

A busy Friday for our horse racing tips also sees action at Wolverhampton, Nottingham, the Curragh, Tramore, Newmarket and Thirsk.

1.07 Newbury – BetVictor Proud Sponsors Of Newbury EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes

An outsider to start the day for Probert, riding Penguin Island for Henry Candy. A half-sister to winners Canal Rocks and Mt Augustus, she makes her debut. Candy wouldn’t be the first name to look for when it comes to debut winners but Canal Rocks was third at 33/1 on debut and Mt Augustus was fourth so she may not be far away.

1.40 Newbury – BetVictor EBF Maiden Stakes

Ian Williams is also not a trainer that most would look out for with two-year-old debutantes, Sarsons Risk representing Williams and Probert here. Oneforthegutter sprung a 25/1 shock on debut at Haydock in July so Williams can get them ready. This colt’s dam was also a debut winner, though as a three-year-old, so a nibble at a big price is interesting given Probert’s form.

2.45 Newbury – Download The BetVictor App Handicap

Spanish Star is an incredibly consistent handicapper, finishing outside the first three just once in his last ten starts. Trained by Pat Chamings who had a 50/1 winner at Salisbury on Thursday afternoon, he is sure to be in the mix once more at an each way price.

3.20 Newbury – BetVictor St Hugh’s Stakes

Already twice a winner from four starts, Bellarena Lady tries her hand at Listed company again. She was disappointing at York when trying this level in the past but that track is not to the liking of everyone. Beaten just three-quarters of a length on debut by Desert Dreamer who has since been placed at Group 2 level, she looks overpriced in the market.

3.55 Newbury – Bet 10 Get 40 For New Customers Nursery Handicap

There were some rock-solid efforts from Amazonian Dream earlier in the season, half a length behind Coventry winner Berkshire Shadow on debut. Royal Ascot and the Weatherbys Super Sprint have been beyond him the last twice but his first foray into handicapping could see him back to form.

4.30 Newbury – Christopher Smith Associates Handicap

Dogged has run some solid races this season without being able to get his head back in front. His sole win came in a nursery in 2019 from a mark two pounds higher than this so he is well enough treated at present. Only beaten two lengths in a Sandown Class 2 in June, if he can tap back into that form, he would be a big player.
