Owen’s Outsiders: In-form tipster attacks Tuesday with 1155-1 double

Owen's Outsiders

Tuesday’s racing comes thick and fast! Bath, Beverley, and Downpatrick host the afternoon action, before Killarney, Brighton, and Southwell take over in the evening. We’ll have horse racing tips for all six meetings, including a NAP of the Day!

With so many meetings to choose from, there’s plenty of opportunities to find some big-priced selections. I’ve aimed to do just that and found two horses stood out to me as overpriced from Tuesday’s action. You can find my selections below, including detailed analysis, and best of luck on your Tuesday punting!

2.35 Bath – Follow At The Races On Twitter Handicap

This is a very modest event and I’m unsure that ALLSFINEANDANDY (33-1) deserves his enormous price-tag. Previously trained by Lynn Siddall, where he failed to score in twelve starts, he made a fairly promising debut for Colin Tizzard over course and distance last time.

As they turned into the straight, he was hopelessly outpaced and looked set to be tailed off. He kept on determinedly, however, and was never-nearer in eighth at the line. He was behind Merlin’s Beard that day, but he lacked the race fitness of that rival and was only three lengths behind.

Now sporting cheekpieces, that should help him travel better through his races and the benefit of race fitness is another big positive. He does need to post a career-best, but it’s early days with Tizzard and if Merlin’s Beard is a single-figure price, I’m not sure he deserves to be quite this big.

3.45 Beverley – Dr Eddie Moll Handicap

He’s not the most reliable of horses, but DONNELLY’S RAINBOW (33-1) sits on a very dangerous rating and has gone close on a pair of occasions in 2021. His most recent victory came back in September 2020 and he currently sits just two pounds above that rating.

He went close to adding to his tally at Catterick back in May, going down by a length off a six-pound higher rating than today. Three subsequent starts have been well below that standard, but given his overall record, he can easily bounce back here.

Plenty has to be taken on trust, but he’s at his best when given a strong pace to chase and he’ll certainly get that here. Sam James has been in red-hot form in recent weeks and his presence in the saddle is the positive that seals the deal at a huge price.
