All punters have their own angles for finding winners. Personally, the class of a race is just about the biggest factor. How a horse is handicapped is of course important but a prior Class 6 winner off 60 might be 2/1 for another Class 6 or 16/1 for a Class 4 from that exact same mark.
The level of opposition makes a huge difference yet those perceived to be ‘out of form’ horses dropping in grade are so often each way prices. With that in mind, we have our four class droppers which combine to pay £10,122 from a 50p stake (£15 total) as an each way Lucky 15 with William Hill if all four win.

Northernpowerhouse won from this same mark of 85 over course and distance last summer. That was arguably the best run of this life so the return to this track looks interesting. He has shaped fine in two of his three runs this season, those in Class 3 company. He slips into a Class 4 here, running at this level for the first time since December 2019.

The only prior visit to this track from Forest Falcon saw him beating one now rated 82 nine lengths off level weights. He kicked off this season in a pair of deeper handicaps than this, finishing second in Class 2 and Class 3 grade. A repeat of that level of form now that he has his sights lowered into a Class 4 would make him hard to beat, especially with a soft lead.
7.53 Newbury – BetVictor Fillies’ Handicap
A smart juvenile, Fairy Dust has found things a bit tougher so far in 2021. She was runner-up in a Listed race over five furlongs at this track last season, beaten in a Class 3 handicap at Goodwood last time. That track is one where a poor run is easy to excuse so now down to a Class 4 and back at the track where she produced her best run, she has to be of interest.

Silvestre De Sousa is back on Mafia Power here, with the good to soft ground looking ideal for him. He has looked in the grip of the handicapper this season, though far from disgraced in any of his runs from slightly higher marks. They have all come in Class 4 races, able to ply his trade in a Class 5 now. That easier company can make all the difference to him.
