Colin Keane has recently been announced as Juddmonte’s new retained rider and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Royal Ascot kicks off on Tuesday and Keane is set to have an eye-catching book of rides. Juddmonte are one of the biggest owner/breeder operations in racing so it’s not surprise that they have some big chances.
We’ve combined them into a Lucky 15 which may well provide a couple of winners across the week. Check out our tips page for content across British and Irish racing and we’ll provide free tips in every Royal Ascot race.
Lead Artist struggled behind Dancing Gemini on seasonal debut but managed to turn the tables in the Lockinge. If John & Thady Gosden’s colt can confirm the form here, he’s entitled to go close. Rosallion is a worthy favourite but this progressive four-year-old can give him a run for his money.
Field Of Gold probably should have won the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, as he was given plenty to do. Colin Keane took over riding duties in the Irish equivalent and he returned to winning ways in emphatic style. That form makes him the one to beat and many will fancy him as banker material.
Detain ran two excellent races in the French Classics, despite getting beaten both times. It was a particularly good display when beaten by less than a length in the Prix du Jockey Club when last seen. The drop in class presents a good opportunity to return to winning ways and he should be going close.
Babouche is clearly a very talented filly as she beat two Group 1 winners as a two-year-old. Ger Lyons’ filly impressively got the better of Whistlejacket in a Group 3 at Naas when last seen and there could be more to come. Keane has ridden her in all six starts to date and will know how to get the best out of her.
