Hexham

There are four meetings to look forward too on Wednesday, with Ayr, Tipperary, Market Rasen and Hereford in the spotlight. We’ll have horse racing tips for all the meetings, as we look forward to the flat opening back up at Doncaster on Saturday too.

For one jockey, however, they’ll be dreaming of further Market Rasen success on Wednesday. The man of the hour has recorded an 80% strike-rate at the venue this season and he travels there for just one ride. Find out all the details below!

The jockey in question is Danny McMenamin, who has ridden four winners from five rides at Market Rasen this season. That has returned a level stakes profit over £54.00, which is an astonishing margin to achieve!

If he was to ride Sweetest Smile to victory on Wednesday, it would be another big-priced winner for him. She was previously trained on the flat by Ed de Giles, where she scored just once from seventeen tries. She was a stayer on the level, however, and she certainly has scope to pick up a low-grade event in this sphere.

She’s yet to achieve much over timber for Mike Sowersby, showing some ability in her novice runs before tailing off on hurdling debut at Uttoxeter back in December. Heavy ground and the two-mile distance perhaps didn’t suit, however, given her staying power on the level. She now steps up in distance and has been dropped five pounds by the handicapper.

She sneaks into the bottom of the handicap in this contest and it’s a very modest race, with none of her rivals having scored in their last five starts. McMenamin’s recent form is a real boost too, winning on seven of his last twenty-eight rides. That includes winners at odds of 20/1, 20/1 and 9/1, 5/1 and 4/5.

If Sowerby’s charge can improve for the aforementioned factors, she could easily out-run her lucrative odds under a jockey who loves Market Rasen.
