ITV Outsiders: 14-1 is a huge price for this well-handicapped horse on Thursday 📺

Chester Racecourse

It’s Day 2 of the Chester‘s May Festival and there is another cracking card to sink your teeth into. There are seven quality races with the Ormonde Stakes and the Dee Stakes being the main events. The first five races will be live on ITV and they are joined by the FBC Manby Bowdler Handicap Chase at Worcester. Check out our free tips page for content across all British and Irish racing. We’re back with three horses that could be overpriced and can outrun their disproportionate odds.

1.30 Chester

Sunday Sovereign (8-1, bet365) was a winner here back in August off just a 1lb lower mark over an extended 5f. This clear evidence that he acts on the track is a huge plus especially when combined with the fact that he’s drawn in stall five. Having had a run under his belt, he should be sharper here with the added bonus that the handicapper dropped him 2lb for that effort.

3.10 Chester

This looks like a winnable Group 3 and a good opportunity for something at a bigger price take the spoils. Andrew Balding’s Invite (12-1, William Hill) is a Listed winner here over an extended 1m4f and the extra furlong is unlikely to inconvenience her. On the form of that win, she looks massively overpriced. She beat her shorter-priced stablemate who also re-opposes here and you would like to think she can progress as a four-year-old.

3.40 Chester

Group One Power (14-1, Paddy Power) should be sharper for his seasonal debut at Chelmsford last time out and the handicapper dropped him 2lb for that effort. He was a close second here off 88 over an extended 1m3f in July. On that form he has to have a great chance off a 4lb lower mark especially with a decent draw in stall four.
