We’re truly into the winter months, as evidenced by just a pair of meetings on Monday. We still have a good days racing in store, with seven-race and six-race cards from Plumpton and Leicester respectively. Our Monday horse racing tips will include both a NAP of the Day and Accumulator tips, and they’re on site now.
One jockey who is having a remarkable season is Brendan Powell Jr. Riding primarily for Colin Tizzard, he’s enjoyed 30 winners from 178 rides, with that 17% strike-rate equating to a level stakes profit of £57.37. That’s a big return and he has just one ride on Monday and it’s our NAP of the Day. Find out all the details below!
The horse in question is Numbers Man, who failed to score in four hurdling runs. He did show plenty of ability, however, and given his stature, he was always going to be a better horse over fences. On the back of wind surgery on seasonal return, he took a huge step forward when second at Ffos Las in October.
Up with the pace throughout, he jumped well and despite looking beaten when headed two-out, he rallied gamely in the closing stages and went down by under a length. That was a very good performance, especially as the front two pulled clear of the rest. He’s gone up four pounds for that, but he remains totally unexposed and an extra furlong can evidently help matters.
The form of the Colin Tizzard and Powell combination seals the deal. They’ve teamed up 138 times this year for a 15% strike-rate and a vast majority of those have come in recent months, so the strike-rate is better than it appears. With all that in mind, this horse has an excellent chance, hence why he’s our NAP of the Day!
