Hottest jumps trainer in Britain sends one horse to Southwell on Sunday 🔥 1️⃣

Venetia Williams has trained five winners from her last 13 runners and has really struck some terrific form. This is no surprise as she tends to do well before the Christmas period each year, particularly when the ground comes up soft or heavy. As far as her horses are concerned, the form book goes out the window at this time of year.

She tends to have them cherry ripe after a break and she does particularly well with her French recruits. In general, she is very good at training staying types that love a bit of mud flying. It is also fantastic to see Charlie Deutsch doing so well after a tough time of it. Williams stood by him since his time in prison and it seems to have paid off for all concerned.

It has to be very interesting that Williams sends just one runner to Southwell on Sunday.

You might be wondering how on earth a horse whose form figures read 331/P1P70- could be favourite for a handicap chase after 247 days off the track. But as I just mentioned previously, form goes out the window as far as Williams is concerned. When the stable is hot, it’s hot. The horse in question is Gemirande and Deutsch will get the leg up.

Gemirande is a five-year-old French recruit who won a novice hurdle for this yard at Wetherby in November 2020. He has a very patchy record since but Venetia always does very well with her chasers and the fact this horse tackles fences for the first time is highly interesting. He also steps up in distance and is running off a lenient mark.
