Horses for courses: Southwell and Wolverhampton specialists form Lucky 15 🍀

Copper West - Southwell Racecourse

Horses aren’t machines and tend to prefer racing at certain tracks. Course form can be a vital tool when trying to find winners. With this in mind, we’ve picked out four runners at Wolverhampton and Southwell on Monday with proven records at their respective tracks. 1.15 Southwell

Forward Plan (3-1, William Hill) is a progressive horse who finished second on chase debut before scoring here at Southwell over 3m2f on just his second start over the larger obstacles. That win gives him a 100 per cent record at the track and he has an excellent chance of defending it here.

1.50 Southwell

Ardmayle (11-4, William Hill) is a veteran with a solid record over fences. In 16 starts over fences, he has won five times and placed a further three times. A 50 per cent win or place record is not be sniffed at. More importantly, he loves it here and has two wins and a third to his name in four starts at Southwell.

7.00 Wolverhampton

Nolton Cross (5-2, William Hill) is in fine form of late, having won his last two starts. Seeking the hat-trick here, his course record suggests he’s well capable of getting the job done. In four starts here, Hugo Palmer’s gelding has won twice and finished second once.

7.30 Wolverhampton

Johnny Boom (10-3, William Hill) has only been out of the first two once in six starts at Wolverhampton. He has three wins and two seconds to his name at the midlands track. This evidence is hard to knock and after a close second over course and distance last time out, should be bang in there once again.
