Situated in Hambleton Hills in the North York Moors National Park, Kevin Ryan absolutely loves this York Festival. The local trainer loves a winner at his local track and as per usual, he has a few speedballs to look forward to.
He has 120 horses in his yard at present, a fine sized yard, and will be looking to enhance his average 13 per cent strike rate from last season. He trained 79 winners in Britain last year which was a large total for the yard.
Ryan did a Stable Tour with the Racing Post, and he came across very sweet on one of his runners at York on Wednesday.
Emaraaty Ana may have two duck eggs next to his name but last year’s Sprint Cup winner is not to be underestimated in the Clipper Logistics on Wednesday. This is what his trainer Kevin Ryan had to say:
“He had a great season last year and ran with credit in the Breeders’ Cup as five furlongs at Del Mar wasn’t his thing – that tested the water, and five and a half at Keeneland this time will be right up his street. He didn’t take to Dubai this year, he was very backward in his coat and I hope that hasn’t left a mark. He seems very well and he’ll start back in the Duke of York before Ascot. He’s a top sprinter, he showed that when second in the Nunthorpe behind Tim Easterby’s filly, who has blistering speed, and he’s one of the best I’ve trained.”
